Job Summary
Senior Advanced Technology Development Engineer – China focuses on identifying, evaluating, and validating new technologies and applications for the Chinese market, translating customer and BU needs into technical concepts and prototypes, and bridging China with ATD Europe. Responsibilities include developing proof-of-concept prototypes using 3D printing, CAD, fixtures, and lab setups; planning and executing testing to validate assumptions; analyzing results and improving concepts; collaborating with ATD Europe; supporting partnerships with universities, suppliers, and research institutes; and strengthening local prototyping and validation capabilities. Requirements include a Master's degree (or PhD) in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Materials Engineering, Electronics, or related fields, 5+ years in R&D/advanced engineering/product development, strong prototyping/testing skills, experience in international settings, knowledge of CAD/testing methods/rapid prototyping, and familiarity with sensors/actuators/embedded systems/elastomers. Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Materials Engineering, Electronics, or related fields
- 5+ years of experience in R&D, advanced engineering, or product development
- Strong hands-on prototyping, testing, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in international settings; China–Europe collaboration is a plus
- Knowledge of CAD, testing methods, and rapid prototyping tools
- Familiarity with sensors, actuators, embedded systems, or elastomers is beneficial
- Practical, structured, and innovative working style with strong communication skills
