Job Summary
The Senior Administrative Coordinator, Faculty Services will serve as the primary administrative support for designated department chairs within the School of Film and Television, enhancing operational efficiency while providing robust administrative support. Key responsibilities include managing faculty inquiries, overseeing updates of departmental webpages, preparing meeting agendas, taking minutes, coordinating events, and managing department budgets. The position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, at least 4 years of relevant administrative experience, and proficiency in various software applications including Microsoft Office and Workday. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are crucial, along with the ability to handle confidential matters discreetly.
Required Qualifications
- Typically a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4 years of advanced administrative, secretarial, and/or clerical experience, preferably in higher education support roles
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent editing and proofreading skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact professionally with faculty, staff, and university leadership
- Proven ability to exercise a high level of discretion
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of academic policies, university processes, systems and platforms
- Intermediate understanding of purchasing and finance principles
- Proficiency in office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Zoom, etc.)
- Experience with Workday
- Proficiency with graphic design software (Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud etc.)
- High degree of emotional intelligence
