Job Summary

Senior Accounting Technician responsible for managing accounts payable, reimbursement activity, collections, and overall account oversight; processes federal travel in compliance with policies; analyzes and records financial data using UFMS, JEDI/JEDI-2, SAFARI, E-2, SAMS.gov; generates reconciliation reports and financial documents for the DOJ Office of the Comptroller and other U.S. Government agencies; supports UFMS transaction processing and system error resolutions; prepares memorandums and correspondence, maintains office files, and assists with meetings and events; requires a two-year accounting degree (or four-year degree with 30 accounting credits), US citizenship, and ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance; preferred proficiency in UFMS, JEDI, SAFARI, E-2, Excel, and advanced Excel functions.

Required Qualifications

  • Two-year degree in accounting or four-year degree in a related field (finance, business, banking, or economics) with 30 credit hours in accounting
  • Knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems used by banking, financial and other institutions
  • Experience working with commitments, obligations, and interagency reimbursement agreements
  • Experience working with the quarterly review, accrual and closeout process
  • Ability to provide analysis and technical support for a variety of financial activities
  • Ability to identify and analyze change in budgetary and/or financial activities
  • Ability to research and analyze financial data
  • Must be a US Citizen upfront
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Ideally, you will also have: UFSM, JEDI, SAFARI, E-2, and Excel proficiency
