Job Summary
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process end to end, including GL operations, journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews under US GAAP. Research and document technical accounting positions across revenue recognition, business combinations, and internal-use software, communicating conclusions to executives. Lead the financial reporting process, support external audits, and build the internal controls framework as the company scales. Manage intercompany accounting and consolidated financials across domestic and international entities while partnering with legal, product, and business development on new initiatives and M&A activity. Define and document accounting policies for crypto-native platform activity. Hit deadlines consistently under US GAAP while building systems and controls to support high-volume trading and global expansion.
Required Qualifications
- Active CPA license
- 8 to 10 or more years of progressive accounting experience
- Direct exposure to both high-growth private companies and public company environments
- 3 or more years of Big 4 public accounting experience
- Deep technical GAAP knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to research complex accounting topics
- Demonstrated ability to write clear memos
- Demonstrated ability to explain conclusions to a non-accounting audience
- Experience leading a close process in a high-transaction-volume environment
- Track record of hitting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Comfort working in modern finance tools
- Familiarity with systems like Ramp, Brex, or a modern ERP
- Interest in learning new tools quickly
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to build and own models
