Senior Accounting Associate, Investment

Job Summary

Own accounting and reporting for a diverse portfolio of investments, including public equities, fixed income securities, private investments, and alternative assets. Review and analyze investment reports, custodial statements, and portfolio activity to accurately record realized/unrealized gains and losses, interest, dividend income, and capital calls. Reconcile investment activity, positions, and balances to custodial and investment manager reporting while preparing schedules for financial and tax purposes. Oversee complex bookkeeping, monthly close activities, and general ledger maintenance for investment and operating entities. Identify opportunities to streamline processes through automation and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting. Requires 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with enterprise systems like Intacct or NetSuite. 3 to 5 days in-office commitment in Westport, CT.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • At least seven (7) years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience working with enterprise general ledger systems such as Intacct, NetSuite, Oracle, or comparable platforms
  • 3 to 5 day a week in-office commitment

Desired Qualifications

  • Significant hands-on experience with investment accounting, portfolio reporting, and reconciliation of investment activity
  • Experience accounting for a variety of asset classes, including public markets, fixed income, hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, and other alternative investments
  • Strong understanding of investment income recognition, capital activity, realized/unrealized gains and losses, and valuation reporting
  • Advanced degree (MBA) and/or professional certification (CPA or CA)
  • Prior exposure to a large or multi‐family office(s), or similarly complex organization
  • Experience collaborating with international teams across time zones and regions
