Job Summary
Senior Accountant responsible for assisting with the full month-end close for a portfolio of residential and commercial properties. Responsibilities include leading bank and credit card reconciliations, preparing journal entries and accruals, maintaining depreciation schedules, handling intercompany transfers, ensuring accurate general ledger coding, preparing annual 1099 filings, supporting inventories counts, compiling comprehensive financial statement packages, reviewing reclassifications from property managers, calculating monthly management fees, processing corporate bill-backs, and supporting internal/external audits. Requires strong working knowledge of accounting principles, real estate/property management accounting practices, and financial reporting; ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams; mentoring junior staff as needed; proficiency in Excel, Word, QuickBooks, Adobe Acrobat, and familiarity with ResMan, Yardi Elevate, and AvidXchange preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related business discipline
- 3–5 years of progressively responsible accounting and financial experience
- Experience in real estate or property management accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced preferred), Word, QuickBooks, and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with ResMan, Yardi Elevate, and AvidXchange highly desirable
