Job Summary
Manage plant accounting functions, including complete ownership of the P&L, Manufacturing Statement, and Balance Sheet accounts for assigned locations. Execute month-end, quarter-end, and annual close duties, prepare journal entries, and maintain sub-ledgers and reconciliations. Analyze variances pre- and post-close, investigate root causes, and drive corrective actions on inventory and manufacturing variances. Prepare monthly variance analysis, forecasts, and budget presentations to management. Process fixed assets, inventory verification, and GR/IR transactions, ensuring compliance with internal controls and US GAAP requirements. Coordinate with Operations Managers, Corporate Headquarters, and cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement and business strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 4 to 5 plus years of progressive accounting experience
- Knowledge of cost accounting principles
- Knowledge of financial statement preparation
- Knowledge of financial statement analysis
- Skills necessary analytically to review/analyze accounting and financial data
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work and communicate effectively at all organizational levels and across functional areas
- Skill at identifying, measuring, evaluating and improving, if needed, the effectiveness of accounting, managerial, financial and operational controls
- Thorough attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent problems resolution and decision-making skills
- Sound planning and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel
- Knowledge of SAP accounting systems
- Knowledge of BPC accounting systems
- 10% travel including air travel or auto travel
