Job Summary
Support day-to-day accounting operations for multiple entities by performing transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Assist in month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations while preparing manual journal entries and resolving accounting discrepancies. Maintain detailed documentation and drive continuous process improvements across financial workflows. Manage hundreds of transactions with high precision while shifting focus between evolving business needs. Work cross-functionally with operations and legal teams to ensure accuracy in premium flows, commissions, and trade payables. Requires strong Excel skills and experience in high-volume financial settings within an insurance or MGA environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5-7 years of accounting experience with strong fundamental accounting knowledge
- Experience with account reconciliations and transactional accounting (payables and receivables)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter mentality with ability to work independently
- Adaptable mindset and comfort with shifting priorities
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

- Experience within insurance, particularly in an MGA, carrier, or similar environment
