Job Summary
Part-time Senior Payroll Specialist role based in Cologne (Cologne office) with a hybrid work model. Responsibilities include monthly payroll for an assigned client portfolio using DATEV Lohn & Gehalt; advising clients on tax and social security matters in German and English; maintenance of employee master data and onboarding/offboarding; acting as a point of contact for social security institutions, health insurers, and authorities; handling certification processes and notifications to authorities; preparing notifications and applications related to maternity leave, wage garnishments, pension schemes, and disability contributions; monthly generation of reports using DATEV tools and Excel; transferring and taking over client master data in DATEV and creating related notifications to professional bodies; manual preparation of income tax statements and annual reports for accident insurance; supporting clients during audits by DRV and tax authorities. Requires completed studies or vocational training as a tax clerk and experience in payroll with DATEV; strong teamwork, precision, German and English proficiency, and openness to automation.
Required Qualifications
- Successfully completed studies or vocational training as a tax clerk (m/f/d) or a similarly qualifying education
- Experience in payroll and familiarity with DATEV Lohn & Gehalt
- Hands-on mentality and ability to work in a team
- Independent and precise working style
- Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
- Open to new technologies and automation processes
- Strong communication skills
