Job Summary
Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations while maintaining and improving month-end close processes. Ensure GAAP compliance by analyzing financial statements and GL accounts to verify fluctuations align with expectations. Leverage automation, AI-enabled tools, and process improvements to reduce manual work and accelerate the close. Respond to information requests and assist with the annual financial statement audit. Take ownership of assigned financial statement areas such as revenue, COGS, and inventory within the first 90 days. Establish strong cross-functional working relationships and identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 3-4 years of experience preferably with a public accounting/private accounting mix
- Experience with one or more complex areas of accounting including but not limited to revenue recognition, inventory, stock-based compensation, debt/equity financing, business combinations or investments
- Ability to read and analyze financial statements/reports
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Comfort working in a fully remote setting
Desired Qualifications
- CPA preferred
- Experience leveraging automation, AI tools, or advanced technology solutions to improve accounting processes, reporting, reconciliations, or close efficiency preferred
- Public company exposure preferred (either through Audit or industry background)
- Comfort with ambiguity and lack of formally defined processes
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented
