Job Summary
Senior Accountant at Valley Christian Schools to manage the full accounting cycle and assist the Financial Controller. Responsibilities include GAAP compliance, month-end close, reconciliations, budgeting analyses, banking activities, audits, financial reporting, and special projects. Role supports tuition accounting, fixed assets, accounts payable, year-end close, external audits/990 preparations, and KPI reporting. Requires collaboration with CEO/COO/Board and cross-functional teams, adherence to internal controls, and strong communication within a faith-based school community. Proficiency with Excel and accounting software is preferred; CPA and prior accounting/financial operations experience are advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- 1+ year of job or internship experience in Finance/Accounting/Operations, with P&L experience
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Must have and maintain a valid Level One IVP fingerprint card
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Experience in accounting software
