Job Summary
Senior Accountant provides accounting, auditing and tax services to clients with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include planning and fieldwork procedures in engagements, preparation of financial statements, preparing federal and state income tax returns for corporate, individual, partnership, fiduciary, trusts and non-profits, preparing any other governmental filings, basic bookkeeping and reconciliations, researching accounting/tax standards and applicable legislation, building communication with internal teams and management, establishing relationships with clients, and supervising staff accountants and interns. The role also includes 15-20% time for firm-directed CPE and on-the-job training, networking and business development, in-house projects, and mentoring and development of newer staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related degree
- 150 relevant Credit Hours (as required for the CPA Exam) and on the CPA career track
- At least one year of relevant professional work experience
- CPA License pursuit (CPA Exam track)
- MST, MSA or other graduate degree preferred
- Strong computer, communication and interpersonal skills, organized, detail-oriented, energetic, and able to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Integrity with ability to handle confidential information
- Client contact and effective communication with client employees and management
