Job Summary
Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and journal entries. Lead the month-end close process, prepare balance sheet reconciliations, and analyze variances from budgets and forecasts. Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries while ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. Provide guidance to the Accounting Clerk on Accounts Payable and Receivable functions, reviewing transactions for accuracy and assisting with training. Prepare ad hoc reports for management and contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with financial reporting, month-end close processes, audits, and financial analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with accounting, ERP, and financial reporting systems
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting processes
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate findings effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments
Desired Qualifications
- CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification
- Knowledge of construction accounting, job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, and project reporting
- Experience in the construction industry
