Job Summary
Lead U.S. GAAP technical accounting and financial oversight by guiding complex transaction treatments, managing month-end closes, and preparing balance sheet reconciliations. Own inventory valuations, COGS reconciliations, and sales tax compliance while partnering with Operations and Supply Chain to maintain accurate records. Mentor junior accountants, review their work, and implement scalable internal controls within the ERP framework. This role supports a U.S.-based CPG leader in a high-growth environment, offering potential conversion to permanent employment after a successful three-month contract period.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- direct experience supporting a U.S.-based company
- Background in CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods), Manufacturing, or Cost Accounting
- Advanced understanding of U.S. GAAP
- inventory accounting
- U.S. sales tax
- Proven track record of owning/leading month-end closes
- performing high-level balance sheet reconciliations
- Strong experience reviewing financial statements
- coaching accounting personnel
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (vlookups, index/match, pivot tables, complex modeling)
- hands-on experience with modern ERP/accounting systems
- Exceptional written and verbal English skills
- ability to communicate technical accounting concepts clearly to non-finance partners
Desired Qualifications
- CPA, CA (Chartered Accountant / SAICA), CIMA, or CGMA designation
- Experience operating within a fast-paced, high-growth, or multi-entity business
- Familiarity with mid-market/enterprise cloud ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, SAP, or similar)
