Job Summary
Oversee sales and use tax administration by reviewing, processing, and reconciling tax returns, ensuring accurate collection and reporting of revenues. Perform complex account reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax revenue reports while maintaining confidentiality of taxpayer information. Respond to inquiries from businesses and auditors, analyze revenue trends for budgeting, and assist with annual financial audits by providing tax records and reconciliations. Independently research and resolve problems, develop internal controls, and assist with ERP system enhancements. Provide guidance to employees, manage performance, and complete special projects and reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Four (4) years of progressively responsible accounting experience in a large organization
- An equivalent combination of education, training and work experience that produces the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with sales tax compliance, revenue auditing, or municipal finance
- CPA, or other relevant professional certifications
- Supervision or team lead experience
