Senior Accountant (Sage 100 & Job Costing)

Job Summary
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow. Execute month-end close activities such as journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, while assisting with year-end close, audits, and tax support. Manage job/project costing in Sage 100, analyzing labor, materials, overhead, and margins to generate profitability reports for leadership. Maintain general ledger integrity, support accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets, ensuring accurate revenue recognition under GAAP. Serve as a key user for Sage 100, troubleshooting data integrity and identifying process improvements. This role requires a Bachelor's degree, 4–7 years of experience, and hands-on Sage 100 expertise. Located in Houston, TX, the position offers a full-time, temp-to-perm schedule with benefits including 401(k) matching and health insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4–7 years of accounting experience
- Hands-on Sage 100 experience (required)
- Demonstrated experience with job costing / project accounting
- Strong Excel skills (reconciliations, analysis, schedules)
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Candidates must be based in the Houston area
- Only individuals authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship will be considered
Desired Qualifications
- Public or telecom industry accounting background
- Experience in project-based environments (construction, manufacturing, IT, staffing, healthcare, facilities, etc.)
- CPA or CPA-track (preferred but not required)
