Job Summary
Senior Accountant on the Real Estate team in Brookfield, WI. You will work with the in-charge to complete audits, reviews, and compilations, interact with clients, and assist with budget preparation. You will prepare financial statements, handle moderate to difficult income tax and informational returns, and perform tax, audit, and affordable housing regulatory research to develop expertise in LIHTC and real estate. You will gain proficiency with HUD/RD and other affordable housing regulatory reporting requirements, participate in internal and external meetings, and mentor interns or junior staff. The role requires 55 hours/week during busy season (including weekends) and 40-45 hours/week during non-busy season. The firm emphasizes confidentiality and professional development, with opportunities to pursue CPA/EA examinations and engage in community representation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- 1 to 3 years of experience as a staff accountant in a public accounting firm
- Experience with real estate, affordable housing, or LIHTC clients preferred
- Pursuing CPA and EA examinations may be appropriate
