Job Summary
Senior Accountant in Real Estate based in Madison, WI. Responsibilities include leading audits, reviews, and compilations with client interaction and budget preparation; act as in-charge for engagements; prepare financial statements; handle moderate to difficult income tax and informational returns; perform HUD/RD and other affordable housing regulatory research; manage administrative tasks; participate in meetings; maintain confidentiality and adhere to SVA policies; gain proficiency with HUD, RD, and related reporting; expected workload typically 55 hours/week during busy season and 40-45 hours/week during non-busy season; duties also include 10-35% bookkeeping, 10-35% professional development, and 5% supervision; role is based in Wisconsin with E-Verify participation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- 1 to 3 years of experience as a staff accountant in a public accounting firm, preferably with experience serving real estate, affordable housing, or LIHTC clients
- Pursuing CPA Examination preferred; EA Examination required if appropriate
