Job Summary
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. Prepare and review financial statements, maintain general ledger accounts, and apply revenue recognition principles under ASC 606 by reviewing contracts and preparing related journal entries. Investigate unusual transactions, develop accounting policies, and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls while supporting internal and external audits. Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Procurement teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition for manufacturing contracts. Requires 4+ years of accounting experience and a 4-year undergraduate degree.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of overall accounting experience
- 4-year Undergraduate Degree, preferably in Accounting, Business or Finance
- Prior experience with manufacturing and/or Engineering Services
- QuickBooks or ERP experience
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Revenue recognition principles in accordance with ASC 606
- Ability to apply revenue recognition principles in accordance with ASC 606 and company policies
- Ability to review customer contracts and purchase orders to determine proper revenue recognition treatment
- Ability to prepare revenue-related journal entries and maintain accurate revenue schedules
- Ability to reconcile revenue accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Ability to support the billing process and ensure revenue is recognized in the appropriate period
- Ability to collaborate with Operations and Sales teams to ensure proper revenue recognition for manufacturing contracts and projects
- Ability to perform account analysis and investigate unusual transactions or variances
- Ability to utilize AI to automate and gain efficiencies
- Ability to assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures
- Ability to support special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed
- Ability to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control procedures
- Ability to support internal and external audit requirements
- Ability to maintain organized and complete documentation to support financial transactions
- Ability to partner with cross-functional teams including Operations, Sales, and Procurement
- Ability to communicate effectively with leadership regarding financial results and issues
- Ability to participate in continuous improvement
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience with manufacturing and/or Engineering Services is a plus
- QuickBooks or ERP experience preferred, but not required
