Job Summary
Senior Accountant responsible for the general accounting function of the plant, including cash management, bank reconciliations, capital expenditure tracking, journal vouchers, prepaid/accrued balances, ensuring invoices are matched to receiving documents and recorded in the correct GL accounts, coordinating AP/AR sub-ledger reconciliations, related party transactions, LTA records and timely payments, assisting with monthly financial statements, annual audit binder and tax package, 5S compliance, and cross-training in other positions. Works with the controller and external auditors, and handles various filings such as Sales/Use Tax and BEA. Must have an accounting degree with 3–5 years of manufacturing accounting experience; CPA preferred but may substitute for experience; strong Excel and CMS software costing proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Accounting degree
- three to five years of general accounting experience in a manufacturing accounting environment
- CPA Certification is preferred but will substitute for experience
- Costing Experience
- Strong Excel skills and basic Microsoft Word skills
- Thorough understanding of the accounting modules of CMS software and standard costing
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
