Job Summary
Senior Accountant in a hybrid role for Metairie or Baton Rouge, LA. Responsibilities include overseeing billings (setup, preparation, adjustments), managing change orders and related data, monthly AR reconciliations and aging analysis, preparing general ledger entries and assisting with monthly close, recommending and implementing accounting control improvements, and collaborating effectively with staff. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 2-5 years of experience in medium/large companies or public accounting (Big 4 a plus), experience with AP/AR/GL/reconciliations and ASC 606, CPA license or active pursuit, ERP experience (Oracle/SAP/JDE), and advanced Excel skills; construction or contracting experience is a bonus. Location specifics: Metairie or Baton Rouge, LA, in a hybrid work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
- 2-5 years of experience in medium/large companies or public accounting (Big 4 experience a plus)
- Experience with AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, and ASC 606 (preferred)
- CPA license or actively pursuing one (preferred)
- Experience with enterprise ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, JDE) (preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication (written & verbal)
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
