Senior Accountant, Property Accounting

Job Summary
Senior Property Accountant responsible for accounting and financial reporting across fixed assets, construction and development costs, property operating expenses, and shared-cost recoveries. Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers in accordance with US GAAP and internal policies; analyze monthly variances and trends in operating expense accounts; ensure SOX compliance and assist with quarterly/annual statements and audit requests. Collaborate with Asset Management, Development, and FP&A to ensure timely reporting; identify process improvements and automation opportunities; mentor junior team members; participate in system implementations and policy/workflow enhancements; maintain accounting procedures and respond to internal inquiries with professional service. Travel may be required; experience in real estate/property accounting and cross-functional teamwork are emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property accounting
