Job Summary
Review daily accounting activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. Direct and assist in the monthly close process, preparing financial reports and analyzing expense accounts. Reconcile bank accounts for multiple entities, balance sheet accounts, and inter-company transactions. Participate in establishing corporate accounting principles, monitoring internal controls, and performing financial analysis to identify problems and opportunities. Assist with annual audits for financial and 401(k) records, and prepare quarterly and annual sales/use tax returns.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5-7 years of Accounting experience
- thorough working knowledge of sophisticated Accounting software programs such as QuickBooks, payroll systems and Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word programs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, subordinates, customers, and the general public
