Senior Accountant

Job Summary
Own monthly close and accounting activities for assigned compensation programs, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis across payroll, bonus, and benefits. Manage accounting support for Mexico and Colombia, coordinating with external providers, preparing monthly reports, and investigating trial balance variances. Review payroll integration activity, assess pay elements, and ensure appropriate mapping to general ledger accounts. Analyze compensation-related account activity, identify variances, research issues, and prepare recommendations for resolution. Document key processes, accounting decisions, and controls while contributing to improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, scalability, and process standardization. Partner with internal teams and external providers to resolve questions, improve processes, and support accurate financial reporting. Prepare recurring and ad hoc support and reports associated with year-end, audit, tax, and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3-5 years of accounting experience supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Experience in payroll, bonus, or benefits
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify variances, research issues, and develop practical accounting solutions
- Experience with payroll systems, integrations, or accounting data flows
- Ability to determine proper accounting treatment for compensation concepts
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to manage responsibilities independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and contribute effectively within a collaborative team environment
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle and/or Workday)
- Experience with automation tools
