Job Summary
Set up, manage, and continuously improve the company's accounting and financial reporting systems in alignment with UAE regulations and international standards. Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations, while supervising and mentoring a small team of two to three junior accountants. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, lead budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensure timely VAT filings and adherence to tax requirements. Conduct financial analysis to support senior management decisions and manage internal and external audits. Maintain strong relationships with banks, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, and support project-level accounting for real estate developments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance
- Minimum 2 years in a Senior Accountant or supervisory role
- Strong understanding of UAE VAT laws, corporate tax, and financial reporting standards (IFRS)
- Proficiency in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Tally, Zoho Books, or ERP platforms like Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling)
- Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop a small team (2–3 junior accountants)
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
- High level of integrity and professional ethics
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certification is strongly preferred (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent)
- Industry experience in real estate development, construction, or property management is highly desirable
- Experience in managing accounting functions in a startup or company in the setup/growth phase is a plus
