Job Summary
Senior Accountant responsible for driving the financial close with emphasis on inventory accounting across multiple warehouses and distribution channels. The role focuses on general ledger activities, validation of product costs ( landed costs, freight, duties, tariffs, handling, storage), and ensuring accurate valuation aligned with GAAP. Key responsibilities include preparing journal entries, reconciliations, assisting with external audits, supporting ERP improvements (Microsoft D365), monitoring landed cost automation, and participating in periodic cycle counts and physical inventories. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of general ledger accounting, inventory or cost accounting experience in wholesale/distribution, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred), strong US GAAP knowledge, ERP experience (Sage/NetSuite/Oracle), advanced Excel skills, and a collaborative, detail-oriented mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA license or path to CPA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience
- Proven experience with inventory or cost accounting in a wholesale/distribution environment
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, and cost flow principles (FIFO, weighted average, etc.)
- Experience working with ERP systems (Sage, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar) and inventory subledgers
- Intermediate-level Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data reconciliation tools
