Job Summary
Senior Accountant role focused on monthly close, financial statement consolidation, internal controls, and support for audits, reporting to the Controller. Responsibilities include coordinating monthly reporting from property accountants, assisting with SEC filings, producing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, supporting acquisitions, preparing supplemental schedules, variance analysis, and external financial statement audits. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent experience, and at least 2 years in public accounting or private company accounting; CPA licensure in process preferred. The position is hybrid after training with on-site days in Ladera Ranch, CA (Tue–Thu on-site) and WFH on Mon and Fri. Training is on-site daily and duration depends on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or comparable work experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Public Accounting and/or private company accounting experience
- CPA or in process of licensure preferred, not required
- Prior experience working in REIT a plus
- Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
- Highly proficient with accounting software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
