Job Summary
Prepare and review monthly financial statements, manage month-end and year-end closing processes, and perform general ledger reconciliations while investigating discrepancies. Execute journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions. Analyze financial data to provide insights for management and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Monitor accounts payable and receivable activities, support audit and tax preparation, and maintain organized accounting records. Collaborate with departments to ensure accurate reporting and assist with internal controls. This role supports Ariva Homes' financial operations within the homebuilding industry.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting software or ERP systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the construction or homebuilding industry
- Experience with job costing, construction accounting, or project accounting
- Experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards or similar platforms
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
