Senior Accountant

Job Summary
Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across corporate and tax equity structures, preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers. Maintain general ledger integrity and consolidation workpapers for multi-entity eliminations while assisting in financial statement and lender reporting package preparation. Track project costs during development and construction phases, ensuring proper capitalization, and support transfers from construction-in-progress to placed-in-service. Maintain fixed asset schedules, lease amortization schedules under ASC 842, and debt amortization schedules. Research accounting guidance, review procedures for improvements, and prepare technical accounting memos for renewable energy scenarios. Ensure consistent GAAP application and internal control compliance. Coordinate with operational teams for construction loan draws and financing closings.
Required Qualifications
- CPA license required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 3-6 years of progressive accounting experience
- Proficient in MS Office including, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and internal control compliance
- Familiarity with consolidation accounting and intercompany eliminations across a multi-entity structure
- Self-starter who operates well in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment
- Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and deliver accurate results under tight deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Strong organization and management skills
- Must be available for an office-based schedule of 4 days in the office (M-Th) and one work-from-home day
- Must be based in Durham, NC
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree a plus
- Public accounting background strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of tax equity partnership structures, construction and term debt, leases, and related accounting treatment is a plus
- Prior experience in renewable energy preferred
- Proficient in Sage Intacct preferred
