Job Summary
Senior Accountant (Healthcare) - This hybrid role combines in-office and remote work in Alhambra, CA, supporting healthcare clients by applying US GAAP to prepare and analyze financial statements, maintain internal controls, and coordinate monthly/quarterly/year-end closes. Key duties include preparing journal entries, bank reconciliations, compiling financial information for management reports, ensuring timely reporting to health plans and regulatory bodies, supporting budgets/forecasts, and coordinating audits with external auditors. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, 3+ years of accounting experience, strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and Word, knowledge of US GAAP (including SOX 404), and familiarity with healthcare/managed care accounting and accounting software (SAGE 100) and SQL. The role emphasizes accuracy, timely reporting, and adherence to internal control policies in a healthcare context.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university
- 3+ years progressively responsible experience in Accounting
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, including financial statements and key ratios
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with complex spreadsheets
- Understanding of US GAAP and experience researching technical accounting issues
- Highly motivated individual able to work independently
- Knowledge and experience in the managed care accounting
- Experience working in a public accounting firm
- Experience with SOX 404
- Knowledge of SAGE 100 accounting software
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL
