Job Summary
Senior Accountant role based at Hamilton Beach Brands’ corporate headquarters (Hybrid in Glen Allen, VA) focusing on maintaining GL integrity and timely U.S. GAAP reporting, leading month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations; performing P&L and balance sheet analysis; ensuring audit readiness and SOX compliance; cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Legal, FP&A; driving automation and process improvements; providing cross-training and backup support within the accounting team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; advanced degree (MBA or MAcc) is a plus
- CPA certification preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Public company experience preferred; experience in multiple-entity or consolidated environments a plus
- Familiarity with SOX controls, internal controls over financial reporting, and audit support processes
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial systems
- Experience with ERP environments; familiarity with BlackLine or similar reconciliation tools preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and large volumes of financial data in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional partners
