Senior Accountant

Job Summary

Manage the accounts payable process from invoice receipt through payment and reconciliation, reviewing invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy, proper approval, and compliance with organizational policies. Process payments via ACH, wire transfers, and checks while maintaining accurate vendor records and resolving discrepancies. Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and support month-end and year-end close activities, including financial reporting, budget-to-actual variance analysis, and grant accounting. Serve as the primary accounts payable resource for employees and vendors, assisting with 1099 and 1096 reporting and internal controls. Work Monday through Friday during normal business hours in an office environment with possible warehouse exposure.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least seven years of progressive accounting experience
  • Substantial responsibility for accounts payable from invoice receipt through payment and reconciliation
  • Cross-functional accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of accounts payable
  • General ledger management
  • Account reconciliations
  • Employee expense reimbursements
  • Financial reporting

  • Experience with ACH payments
