Job Summary
Record sales transactions in compliance with US GAAP, prepare journal entries for inventory and revenue, and reconcile the general ledger to subledgers. Manage multi-state sales and use tax compliance, including timely filing of returns, researching nexus requirements, and coordinating with third-party providers and Avalara software. Leverage AI-powered tools to automate repetitive tasks, build scalable Excel models and dashboards, and implement workflow improvements that reduce manual effort. Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable financial information and support ad hoc analysis. This role supports the monthly close and operational analytics for GOLFTEC, the world leader in golf instruction technology.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2–3+ years of progressive accounting experience
Desired Qualifications
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Knowledge in Sales Tax
- Experience with Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP) or similar ERP
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, automation)
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools to improve accounting workflows and productivity
- Working knowledge of sales and use tax compliance across multiple states
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership over work quality
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Adaptable and proactive — comfortable building and improving processes in a growing organization
