Job Summary
Senior Accountant–General Ledger & Taxation in Japan to manage payments for Rocket Now operations, oversee journal entries, support tax filings, monitor accounts payable, provide financial data analysis, assist with month-end and year-end closing, support audits, and supervise team members. Requires CPA/USCPA and 5+ years of accounting experience, with strong knowledge of Japanese GAAP, tax regulations, and English/Japanese bilingual proficiency. Collaboration across local operations and global finance functions to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- CPA or USCPA holder
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably with exposure to payments, general ledger, and tax in a multinational or fast-paced environment
- Solid understanding of Japanese GAAP, tax regulations, and accounting practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to accuracy and detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Business-level in both English and Japanese
