Senior Accountant - Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting Focus

Job Summary
Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts across multiple entities while managing lease accounting (ASC 842), including CAM reconciliations and tenant improvement activity. Own fixed asset accounting, covering depreciation schedules, capital tracking, and construction-in-progress reconciliation. Perform bank reconciliations, review AP invoice coding, and partner cross-functionally to investigate discrepancies and support annual audits. This hybrid role reports to the VP Controller, featuring three days onsite in North Phoenix and two days remote weekly. The position supports the finance team of a rapidly growing nursing school dedicated to expanding campuses and addressing the nursing shortage.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with ASC 842 lease accounting, including lease setup, monthly lease entries, remeasurements, reconciliations, CAM reconciliations, and tenant improvement accounting
- Strong fixed asset accounting experience, including capitalization policies, depreciation calculations, asset tracking, disposals, and construction-in-progress (CIP) accounting
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar ERP
- Public Accounting experience
- Must be able to work three days onsite and two days working from home each week
Desired Qualifications
- Public Accounting experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar ERP (preferred)
- Coupa or similar procurement system experience (a plus)
