Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant responsible for researching and recommending new accounting standards in compliance with GAAP, and the review and preparation of financial reports and supporting documents. Duties include preparing month, quarter and year-end closes; footnotes to the annual report and required disclosures; maintaining accounting models for significant estimates; developing and maintaining internal controls and fiduciary reporting duties with COSO/FIDICIA compliance; assisting with questions in the absence of the Controller; loading general ledger balances to profitability systems and verifying accuracy; collaborating with department managers to develop a budget and forecasting; coordinating with internal audit and compliance to ensure department compliance; staying current with financial reporting procedures and regulations; and handling projects such as time studies for accounting estimates, 401K and pension plan reporting, REO workout activities, secondary market derivative accounting, and more.
