Senior Accountant Finance Lead

Job Summary
Execute the monthly accounting close, including reconciliations, and prepare all journal entries for a $6M nonprofit. Manage restricted grant allocations, oversee AR and AP processing, and complete quarterly government grant reporting. Maintain general ledger integrity, create cash-flow projections, and execute bi-weekly payroll. Assess internal financial controls, support annual audits, and manage the fixed asset ledger. Assist with tax filings and prepare board-level financial reports. Operate independently to meet deadlines with a focus on data accuracy and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 7+ years of nonprofit accounting experience
- Demonstrated experience with nonprofit revenue recognition, including restricted contributions, conditional grants, and government funding
- Experience with functional expense allocation methodologies and public grant compliance requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data clearly to non-financial staff and leadership
- Strong attention to data accuracy and financial control integrity
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, including QuickBooks Projects and MS Excel
- Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace, including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Drive
