Job Summary
Senior Accountant to support the Finance team with integrity of financial reporting, including balance sheet reconciliations, month-end/quarter-end close, financial statement preparation under ASPE, audit support, tax compliance, and intercompany accounting. The role emphasizes accurate journal entries, reconciliations, internal controls, and collaboration with the Controller to maintain healthy financial records in a fast-paced environment. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement (1 day work-from-home per week per the listing) and is based in Brampton, Ontario. Key skills include ASPE compliance, external audits support, ERP (Dynamics 365), advanced Excel, analytical problem-solving, and strong communication across departments.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA designation
- Strong understanding of ASPE and financial statement preparation
- Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end/year-end close
- Experience supporting external audits and regulatory compliance requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial analysis)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or similar ERP system is an asset
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
