Job Summary
Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and manage financial reporting schedules to support timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Execute cash and treasury accounting, maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules, and process intercompany transactions and debt-related activities in compliance with U.S. GAAP. Provide documentation and analyses for internal and external audits while identifying process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and internal controls. This role serves as a key contributor to the Corporate Accounting team at Leonardo DRS, Inc., partnering with management on strategic initiatives and audits within a defense technology environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Experience supporting corporate accounting operations
- Experience supporting financial reporting
- Experience supporting month-end close
- Experience supporting account reconciliations
- Experience supporting financial analysis
- Knowledge of SOX compliance
- Knowledge of internal controls
- Knowledge of accounting policies and procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform detailed financial analysis
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
