Job Summary
Manage U.S. and combined U.S.-Canadian individual income tax return preparation for citizens and residents in both countries. Assist in cross-border income tax and estate planning while delivering expertise on Canadian, U.S., and international tax treaties through client interactions and technical reports. Identify discrepancies, investigate errors, and correspond with clients and government agencies to address compliance issues. Lead engagement teams, mentor junior members, and participate in expatriate policy and compensation design. Collaborate on business development initiatives and contribute to process improvements. Maintain flexibility to travel as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration
- 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting or tax experience
- Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. individual and income tax (1040, 8621, 5471 and 3520)
- Experience working with accounting and tax software
- Completion of a CPA designation
- Completion of CFE examination and working towards relevant practical experience requirements
