Job Summary
Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP, ensuring balance sheet accuracy through journal entry reviews and reconciliations. Supervise external BPO and tax providers while managing fixed assets control and intercompany reconciliations across Europe, Africa, and Asia. Lead audit-related activities and support the preparation of consolidated financial reports for Spanish entities and Brussels HQ. Mentor junior team members and drive continuous improvement initiatives within a multicultural environment. This role requires immediate availability and is based in Madrid with occasional travel to Brussels.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounting roles
- Immediate availability to start
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree or professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent)
- Experience in external audit, preferably within a Big Four firm or a multinational company
- Strong understanding of IFRS and/or local GAAP
- Experience in a multinational corporate environment
- English & Spanish
- French
- Strong proficiency in Excel
- Experience and knowledge with SAP S/4HANA and SAP BPC
- Solid understanding of corporate tax processes, including coordination or review experience
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines
- Ability to operate in a multicultural and dynamic environment
