Senior Accountant / Controller

Job Summary
Manage daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and cash management while preparing accurate month-end and year-end closing entries. Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements in accordance with GAAP, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to support management decision-making. Analyze manufacturing labor, material, and overhead costs to assist with standard cost updates and variance analysis, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls, coordinate annual audits, and assist with tax preparation. Partner with Operations, Purchasing, Human Resources, Engineering, and Production to provide accurate financial information and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP
- Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting and inventory costing
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to build strong working relationships across all departments
Desired Qualifications
- Manufacturing accounting experience preferred
- Previous Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager experience preferred
- Strong manufacturing cost accounting and financial management experience
