Job Summary

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Own the full-cycle accounting process, including journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations, while leading month-end and year-end close processes with variance analysis. Build automation using AI and various finance tools to streamline operations and reduce manual effort. Partner with leadership to develop budgets, financial plans, and ad hoc reports to support data-driven decision-making. Develop and refine accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to drive operational efficiency. Collaborate globally with the outside financial team and assist with tax preparation, filings, and audit support. This role requires 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in an agency environment, proficiency with QuickBooks, Brex, and Bill.com, and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience with increasing responsibility
  • Prior experience working in an agency or professional services environment
  • Strong command of GAAP and accounting best practices
  • Experience with project-based accounting or revenue recognition
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Brex, and Bill.com
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity across all deliverables
  • Awareness of federal, state, and local tax regulations
  • Ability to structure, analyze, and present financial data to drive decisions
  • Proven ability to identify financial trends, resolve discrepancies, and translate data into actionable insights
  • Solid understanding of data models and advanced Excel
  • Must be available in Chicago and the Chicagoland area
