Job Summary
Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting for senior leadership. Perform variance analysis, assist with firmwide budgeting and forecasting, and support year-end audits and regulatory examinations. Identify process improvements, document controls, and leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to provide analytical insights for decision-making while maintaining strict data privacy standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting or financial industry related experience
- Bachelor's degree required in Accounting
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply accounting principles
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity
- Detail-oriented self-starter comfortable working independently and understanding appropriate times to ask questions and managing multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Strong analytical, problem solving, research, verbal, and written communication skills
- Execution-focused, with the ability to take individual responsibility for delivering quality work in a timely manner
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in navigating AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot), detailed system-generated source reports, downloading and analyzing data, and Excel functions
- Ability to build, foster, and maintain positive professional relationships
- Ability to work at the Baltimore office location
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
Desired Qualifications
- CPA license (or progress towards passing CPA exams) strongly preferred but not required
- A curious and inquisitive mindset will be beneficial in this role
- Demonstrates curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, improve efficiency, and thoughtfully leverage new technologies and tools, including AI-enabled productivity solutions
