Job Summary
Oversee project and general ledger records, monitor costs and revenue recognition, and prepare reconciliations, financial analysis, and management reports for the Calista Corporate Finance department. Provide monthly financial data for assigned projects, setup new projects according to contract terms, and track active projects while communicating with Project Managers to ensure accurate billing. Review A/P vouchers and expense reports for accuracy, prepare balance sheet, project ledger, and bank reconciliations, and generate journal entries and financial statement analysis. Support audit requests with workpapers, maintain prepaid accounts amortization schedules, and prepare sales and use tax returns as needed. Work in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment requiring occasional weekend or evening availability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Bachelor's degree may be substituted for five years of progressive accounting experience
- Minimum of four years of accounting or related field experience
- Minimum of one year experience working for a large company or another Native Corporation
- Ability to pass a drug, background, reference, and credit check
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to read and understand contracts and agreements
- Ability to read and understand documents such as employee handbooks, safety rules, Company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ability to process a high volume of data with accuracy and meet various deadlines
- Solid understanding of intermediate accounting principles
- Solid understanding of accounting principles as they relate to fixed assets, construction-in-progress, and revenue recognition
- Knowledge and skills in computerized accounting systems and ability to learn company-specific software
- Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with employees, business partners, and clients via written and verbal communication methods
- Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Ability to prepare and review complex invoices
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work
