Job Summary
Senior Accountant needed to join BMSS Advisors & CPAs in Ridgeland, MS as part of the Client Accounting Solutions (CAS) team. You will provide day-to-day accounting support including general ledger management, accounts payable, and payroll processing, and prepare monthly financial statements tailored to client needs. The role involves multi-state payrolls, complex payroll structures, and delivering high-quality service aligned with firm standards. Strong GAAP knowledge, accounting principles, and excellent communication are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting highly preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of payroll processes, including multi-state experience
- Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Detail-oriented mindset and ability to manage deadlines effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Located near a BMSS office in Alabama or willing to commute/relocate
