Job Summary
Execute daily accounting operations across assigned legal entities and business units, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with journal entries and reconciliations. Prepare draft management reports, regulatory submissions under Basel III/IV, and support external audits by responding to auditor queries. Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and coordinate intercompany transactions and FX revaluations. Liaise with HR, Treasury, Tax, and FP&A to ensure accuracy while assisting junior staff on routine procedures. This hands-on role supports BankPro's growing operations in Nassau, The Bahamas, contributing to the delivery of timely financial information in compliance with IFRS and central bank requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Professional accounting qualification in progress or recently completed: ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent
- Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a bank or financial institution
- Working knowledge of IFRS, including bank-relevant standards (IFRS 9, IAS 39, IFRS 16)
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to manage competing deadlines
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Fluency in English
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting concepts (e.g., central bank returns, Basel III/IV)
- Experience with ERP or core banking systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Avaloq, Mambu)
- Experience supporting external or internal audits
