Job Summary
Perform investment and derivative accounting processes for a variety of transactions within the PAM system in accordance with GAAP, statutory, and internal policies. Prepare journal entries, analyze data, and resolve moderately sophisticated issues in accounting transactions. Generate reports for 10Q, 10K, and regulatory filings while clearing outstanding variances during reconciliations. Partner with business units to develop accounting practices and improve processes to minimize financial risks. Requires a Bachelor's degree, three years of accounting experience, and strong analytical skills. Base pay ranges from $71,300 to $98,100 annually. This role supports Ameriprise Financial's diversified financial services operations across investment management and insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4 years)
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- General ledger and spreadsheet experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Valid work authorization that does not now, or in the future, require visa sponsorship for employment in the United States (e.g., H-1B, F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, TN)
- Must be able to work in the office at least four (4) days per week
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Proven understanding of investment and derivative instruments
- Strong technical skills including advanced Excel and some Access database knowledge
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end process flows, systems, controls and impacts across products and business lines they support
- Experience with Workday general ledger accounting system
- Publicly traded company experience
- Certified Public Accountant
