Job Summary
Own OPEX GL accounting activities, including trend reviews, accruals, reclassifications, and allocations, while managing AWS-related prepaid amortization. Execute monthly close processes by preparing and posting journal entries, completing reconciliations, and generating balance sheet and P&L flux analysis for functional and external partners. Serve as the primary contact for auditor inquiries on assigned areas, ensuring US GAAP compliance across moderate to high complexity accounts. Manage grant invoicing, cost tracking, and budget-vs-actual reporting, and support inventory-related accounting workflows as needed. Drive process improvements through system enhancements or automation. This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area with a base pay range of $130,000-$170,000.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of related accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree
- minimum of 3 years with a Master's degree
- equivalent work experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and US GAAP
- Advanced Excel skills
- experience with complex reconciliations, allocations, and financial analysis
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional partners
Desired Qualifications
- CPA designation preferred
- Big Four public accounting experience a plus
- Experience with general ledger accounting software (NetSuite preferred)
- Experience with grant accounting, cost tracking, and budget-vs-actual reporting preferred
