Job Summary
Senior Director of Business Development responsibilities include implementing an annual sales plan to achieve territory quotas, heavy prospecting of leads for new RFPs, assembling cross-functional teams for bid defenses and effectively positioning ICON to win new business, updating opportunities and client interactions in Salesforce, representing ICON at industry meetings and conferences, and collaborating with the Inside Sales team to generate client meetings. Key activities also include reviewing RFPs cross-functionally, maintaining regular reporting on pending, lost and awarded opportunities, and tracking activity and opportunity status in Salesforce.com.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or international equivalents or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of selling within the CRO industry to biotech clients
- Located on the West Coast
- Read, write and speak English
